Hi,
I am a mom of two sons. I have a 5-week old. At first, he was sleeping great. Now, is sleeping has changed. This week has been awful. Here is how it's been. He wakes up at 5 a.m where I nurse him and put him back in his crib. He either wakes up after an hour or doesn't fall back to sleep at all. Through the rest of the day, it is a combination of me nursing him, he falls aleep, I put him in his crib/viberating seat, and less then 5 minutes later, he wakes up. I put his paci in, he falls back to sleep, 5 minutes later, he spits paci out and it starts all over. After 15 minutes of this back and forth--spitting out paci, sleeping, crying, I get him up and rock him. He falls asleep, and it starts all over. 5 mintues of sleeping, paci, the whole bit. AHHHH!! I have tried a swing, my arms, rocking him, his crib, my bed, it all is the same. Spit out paci, cry, put back in, sleep 5 minutes, spit out paci, cry....you get it. What do I do? Let him cry until he is exhausted? At his age, I am afraid...I know that sounds silly, but it's so hard hearing your baby cry.
Any suggestions would be helpful...

Thank you!

Well unfortunately there is no magic key that will solve all your baby sleep problems. The goal is though to teach
the infant to fall asleep by himself and to get to used to eat only at day time.
Babies, especially really young ones have much more light sleep than adults and older children. This means
that they have more opportunities to wake up and when they do, many infants need help to get back to sleep.

Think about it, while in your stomach, the baby's "bed" was in constant movement, rocking him gently
back to sleep. Food supply also never stopped. Quite different from a steady, roomy crib and no food for many hours..

Top Tips to Help Your Baby Sleep Better

    * A bedtime routine
    * Put baby in bed while awake
    * Rock your baby's bed
    * A lot of eating in the evening
    * Stuffed animal or blanket that smells MOM
    * A light cotton cloth over the eyes
    * Slowly shorten nighttime feeding length
    * Introduce a pacifier
    * A sleep bag
