Hey guys,

My job recently picked up a campaign for the new movie Extraordinary Measures which is the true story of John Crowley the father who's kids contracted a life threatening disease(Pompe's) and his quest to raise funds for a cure.

Having been exposed to a lot of the promo materials for the film I went ahead and read the book the movie is based on, The Cure, and I began to become amazed at how motivated this father was to protect the well being of his children.

For those who haven't seen the trailer or or the materials the site is here:

Extraordinary Measures

What inspirational movies have really touched you guys, which really showcase a parent going to extremes in order to protect their kids?  Outside of Extraordinary Measures movies like John Q come to mind for me.

Hi

Thanks - will look out for the movie.

Well there's thousands of movies out there and I don't even know where to begin. But I must say that a great example of parents will always be superman (as cheesy as this may sound). But even with all the challenges that the parents have to face, they are still a great example of what a loving parent should be like and to always give their kid inspirational advice.

Great point!  Not every parentally inspirational movie has to be so transparent.  Many films have a theme of great parenting.  Many of the films on TCM's 31 days of Oscar have an aspect of caring parents in them.  TCM does this event every year and it's 360 movies aired nonstop commercial free daily for a month.

In a lot of these movies parenthood is a major plot point for the characters, whether it be the parents of the main characters, or the main characters become parents themselves.

To check out a list of the films go here.
